There still remains a rest

By Darlene

Are you resting today?

There is a rest that we must all enter into and the only way this is made possible is through our faith in the Word of God. This rest is a spiritual rest
God created the world and everything in it in 6 days, on the 6th day He created Man and then God rested on the 7th day. “Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.” Genesis 2:3
For 6 days the Word of God was going out of His mouth and whatever was spoken was made to come to pass, everything spoken was accomplished. Mankind was created on the sixth day, they named the animals and on the 7th day God rested and Mankind also rested.
God spoke a word to Adam and Eve about not eating the tree of the knowledge of good and evil but they did not rest in His Word and through unbelief, lack of faith, Sin came into the world.
The children of Israel were promised rest after their deliverance from Egypt. As they crossed the Red Sea, they were born again of water and all they had to do was Rest in the fact that the Word God spoke while leaving Egypt would surely come to pass. They had to rest in the Word spoken that God would bring them into the promised land. Sadly a generation perished because of unbelief.

“God created the world and everything in it in 6 days, on the 6th day He created Man and then God rested on the 7th day. “

We too must enter into REST in the Word of God. We must believe that the Word that created the World, Jesus Christ, LORD of the sabbath, LORD of the true rest has come to give us rest and will surely give us rest. He worked for 6 days and rested so that we may enter into His rest after being born again, just like Adam and Eve entered into His rest on the 7th day after being born again.

Yes, there is the physical keeping of the sabbath that was kept but the real essence of this rest was the spiritual rest. There is no point in keeping the physical which is a symbol of the spiritual if we are not keeping the spiritual rest. Christ is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. If being immersed in water is being born of the water, the story does not end until we are born of the spirit. Being immersed itself symbolises moving from death to life. The physical represents an even greater truth. Today as you hear the VOICE of God through His word let us by faith decide to rest from all our works of Self-righteousness. Let us decide to believe in the finished works of Jesus Christ on the cross of calvary. Let us rest in the daily word He gives us concerning our lives, careers, families, children, finances etc. Let us rest in the fact that the Word sent will surely create what it has said.

Who are you listening to?

Who Do You Keep Listening To?

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17
Decide to shut out every other voice and listen to God at least once every day.
Father increase my Faith is a prayer I often make, knowing that through faith comes righteousness, salvation, answered prayer to all sorts of stubborn situations and miracles. Having faith is not about saying what you want as if it is a magical sentence, its not about closing your eyes and saying ‘I believe’ and ‘I receive’. Faith is not assumption.

Faith is about a relationship that is based on;
(1) Hearing and
(2) believing that what you have heard is truly from God and thus, will undeniable come to pass. Great faith is believing that God has spoken and so it has already come to pass.

The voice of God is constantly speaking
– silently in the written pages of the bible,
– audibly as you read the bible with the intent to grasp something,
– audibly as we carry on with duties,
– through people all around us, through animals and through nature.

“When you hear it and you know that it is the voice of God, by faith grab hold of what He is saying, remember that voice and make sure you follow through with the message.”

As we read through the pages of the bible in a prayerful attitude, you will hear a voice speaking to you about the verses you are reading in order to guide you. It may be one word, a phrase or even a sentence. The more you listen and act on what you hear is the more you will hear the Holy Spirit speaking to you. He will constantly be looking for ways of re-affirming to you that he is around you, aware of what is happening to you, aware of your thoughts and plans.
Sometimes when he speaks through people, children and nature around us, we may miss the message if we have not been in tune with Him or if we do not know God’s voice. However, the sure way of making sure you know God’s voice is by reading the Bible, the Word of God.
When you hear it and you know that it is the voice of God, by faith grab hold of what He is saying, remember that voice and make sure you follow through with the message. As you do this, your FAITH will be established and will grow as you listen and act IMMEDIATELY or according to the message given.

Remember, “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11”. God’s Word shall not return to Him void. It MUST first do exactly what it says or what it is.

Once again, its time to close your ears to every other voice and concentrate on hearing from God. That is where and how your relationship with God will develop from.

Enjoy Some God & You-Time

Rise up early, by choosing to get up and seek after God.

Do you believe in God? Have you heard that Jesus Christ came to secure your salvation from eternal death? Did you know that when Jesus died on the cross at calvary more than 2000 years ago, we were in Him, we all died in Him and ressurected in Him, with Him? If you believe this and confess it with your mouth, then you have just accessed your salvation by faith. You have now received justification, simply by believing with all your heart. Now, the same way you have received Jesus Christ -by faith in what has been revealed to you- maintain it by walking in faith.

Yoga and mindfulness. Are they Safe for Christians?

We are living in a day and age where we have to be wise because the devil knows that he has a short time left. To weaken the faith of people in God, he has caused seemingly harmless practices to infiltrate schools, work places, institutions, and some churches. These doctrines and evil beliefs come straight from the pits of hell but are so clothed with garments of peace that even christians are practicing them, even in churches.
Yoga and mindfulness are the two I will briefly mention. Some people think that Yoga is a form of exercise, not knowing that this is a form of worship that comes from eastern religions. Each stretch or position invokes certain evil spirits. People are encouraged to meditate in unbiblical ways that make them vulnerable to evil spirits and realms of the evil one.
Mindfulness is also another practice that still has its roots from eastern religions. People and even children in school are encouraged to sit comfortably, focus on an object, place or a thought, breath in certain ways, empty their minds, and tune in to certain environments or surroundings or whatever. It causes the ones practicing this form of meditation to get into an altered state of consciousness where anything suggested goes straight into the mind. All these practices place the mind in a very vulnerable position to realms of the evil one. The danger is that these practices are slowly creeping into christian congregations and theological schools in form of meditation, focusing on God, imagining Jesus and all sorts of things.
Let us be wise, let us be alert, let us seek for God in the right ways and we will surely find him. Pray for your children especially those living in countries where these practices are being taught to our children. Teach your child the right way and even if they are presented with false doctrines, they will know the truth and will not follow false practices.

Charity begins at home

The Virtuous wife wakes up while it is night to get food for her household and maids. Proverbs 31: 15 She gets the Word of God studies it, meditates on it and knows that charity begins at home.

Did you know that you are a living epistle for men to read. “clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.” 2 Corinthians 3:3

Our lives, actions and deeds should speak that we have been with Christ.

Our enemy knows this and he seeks to cause strife amongst us and our parents(biological or not), children ( biological or not), extended family, in-laws, siblings and the list goes on. Many times the strife is prolonged because each individual does not want to admit they are at fault or maybe because they do not want to seek after peace. Children of God should seek after peace always. Even if we are not at fault but if we are ignorant of the enemy’s devices we end up acting out of anger, hurt, irritability, defence, jealousy, pride, in the guise of looking out for our interests and we find reasons to justify our actions which we hold valid at that time. Strife is the result and the enemy wins.

How can we say we love God and hate our brothers and sisters that we can see? “ If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?” 1 John 4:20

We need to be on guard asking God to transform us, give us wisdom and teach us how to love at all times. Whether we are right or wrong, we should seek for peace. Even if the other party is the one who is disgruntled with you, you can choose to forgive, forget and – in love, pray for them and God will sort it out in His time and His way.

Go to bed every day asking God to help you be a heavenly epistle that reveals Christ to those at home and wake up with the same resolution.

Think of those at home, think of those who serve you and those in authority over you, think of those at church and whether we are giving bread or projecting other things instead.

Go to bed every day asking God to help you be a heavenly epistle that reveals Christ to those at home and wake up with the same resolution.

Who is the Virtuous Church?

Virtuous Church is a bible study all about the body of Christ throughout the ages from Genesis until the second advent of Christ and the New Jerusalem. The people of God are #virtuous because they clothed in the righteousness of Christ and power of God.
